There are 3 ways to start a level-up request in Spire: from the program dashboard, level-up requests page, or the competencies page. To read more about what a level-up request involves, check out What is a Level-Up Request?.
From the Program Dashboard
Once you log into Spire and arrive at your program's dashboard (the main page), you will see a section called "Focused Competency Progress". If you have engaged often and deeply enough with a particular competency or dimension, you will see an option to "level-up". Clicking this will automatically create a level-up request for the next level. If you do not see the competency or dimension you want to level-up in, see the sections below for more options to get started.
From the Level-Up Requests Page
The level-up requests page is where you will find a list of all level-ups you've ever created for your program. From here you can start a level-up for any competency or dimension:
- Click the "New Level-Up Request" button.
- Select the competency or dimension you want to request the level-up for.
- If your program allows students to select their starting level, choose a level. Otherwise, the level of your request will be set automatically based on your current level in the competency or dimension, if there is one. If you haven't progressed in the chosen competency or dimension, the starting level will be the first level.
- Click submit
From the Competencies Page
You may also start a level-up request from the Competencies page. To do so, find the dropdown section for the relevant competency and expand it. Click the "Level-Up" button for the competency or dimension you want to advance in.
