How to Create a Level

To add a level to a dimension, follow these steps:

Step 1: Navigate to the dimension

On the Competencies admin page for your program, locate the competency under which this level will belong and select the competency name. Under the "Info" tab, select the name of the dimension to which you want to add the level:

Step 2: "Add New Level"

At the top of the list of levels for that dimension, click "Add New Level", which will display a form to add the following information:

Step 3: Enter additional level details

In the level form, add or edit the following information:

  • Level name
  • Description - A student-facing description of what you expect of students who reach this level (may or may not be the same as the assessment criterion)
  • Points Threshold

Select "Save" to proceed with creating the level. 

Step 4: Add Assessment Criteria (optional)

If desired, add one or more Assessment Criteria by selecting "Add New Criterion" and filling in the text. 

  • Assessment Criterion - a yes/not yet statement to which reviewers can respond when evaluating a student's level-up request for this level. 

 

Step 5: Add Student-Facing Level-up Prompts (optional)

If desired, select "Add New Prompt" to add one or more prompts to which students can respond during the level-up process.
