Canceled Program (Already Traveled Abroad)

I've already traveled and my study abroad program was just canceled due to COVID-19 risks. How will my aid be affected?

If you are currently abroad and in need of assistance to return home due to your program’s cancellation, please contact the study abroad team in the Office of Financial Aid at finaid.abroad@umich.edu. If your program is canceled, the impact on your aid will depend on your circumstances and options: 

• Students completing their courses remotely should be able to keep the majority of their financial aid. If you are able to complete your program remotely, we encourage you to do so.
• Students unable to finish their semester or students who have traveled and not yet begun classes may not be eligible to keep the full aid disbursed. If you fall into this category, contact the study abroad team in the Office of Financial Aid at finaid.abroad@umich.edu and work closely with your school or college’s study abroad office.
