Financial Aid Notices and Student Bills

Is my financial aid notice the same as my student bill?

No. Your financial aid notice lists scholarships, grants, loans, or Federal Work-Study that you are eligible to receive. The aid notice will estimate your educational costs, but it will not reflect your actual billed charges. The Office of Financial Aid sends you an email letting you know when you have a financial aid notice available to view and download.

The Student Financial Services Office sends you an email when you have a student bill, sometimes called an invoice, available to view and print on Wolverine Access. Your bill lists direct charges and any financial aid that has been applied or will be applied by the start of the term. The bill minus your aid is the amount you owe the university.

Financial aid administered by the Office of Financial Aid is applied directly to charges listed on your bill, usually during the first month of the term. You are responsible for paying any amount not covered by this funding.
