Remotely Connect to your SPH Windows computer from a Windows Computer

Please contact SPH Computing Services (sph.help@umich.edu) to configure your computer to accept remote connections.

Prerequisites

Connect to VPN

  1. Launch the "Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client" and click 'Connect' to establish a connection.

  2. When prompted for username and password enter your UMICH uniquename and password.

Connect to Computer

  1. Launch the 'Remote Desktop Connection' application and enter the following in the 'Computer Name' field:

    Remote Desktop Connection - mstsc.exe
    COMPUTERNAME.ddns.sph.umich.edu
     
  2. Click "Connect" and you will be presented with the login prompt show below.
    Login using your uniquename and password; be sure that "Domain:" says UMROOT.

  3. After connecting - you will be presented with the Windows 'Lock Screen'.
    Log in like you would to a workstation PC to begin your remote desktop session.
