Table of Contents Access Edit Tool Edit Captions Overview All videos loaded to Kaltura, except those linked from YouTube, are captioned automatically. The captions are generated by a machine, so it is important to review them for accuracy. Access the Edit Tool Once the captions have been processed, they can be edited for accuracy. Go to My Media and click on the video. Click on Actions and select Request Captions. Scroll down to the Existing Requests section and click the pencil icon to the right of the completed caption request. You will now be on the caption editing page. Edit Captions On the Closed Captions Editor page, you will see the caption text, separated by timestamps, listed on the left side of the page, and a preview of the video on the right that can be used to verify that your captions and audio match. Edit Caption Text Hover over the text you wish to edit. You will see that the text box becomes active at that point. Edit the text as necessary. Edits will appear in real-time on the video preview. Click the Save button at the top right as you make edits to save your work. Edit Caption Timestamps If captions do not match up correctly with the audio, you can edit the timestamps. Hover over the timestamp you wish to edit. Click and edit the time as necessary. If there is an overlap where one caption ends and the next begins, the times will be highlighted in yellow so that you can correct times.
