MCommunity is an online campus directory for the University of Michigan including all Ann Arbor, Flint, and Dearborn students, faculty, and staff. The directory can be accessed through the following link:

Intended Audience
This article is for the benefit of students, faculty, and staff looking to use the MCommunity Online Directory.
Requirements
You must have your UM-Flint and UMICH accounts synced to use MCommunity. To ensure that your accounts are synced, you can simply change your password. For instructions on changing your password, please consult this article
Features
The MCommunity directory website provides numerous features to the University of Michigan campus community. The following is information that is viewable by anyone (viewing as a Guest):
- First and Last Name
- Contact Information
- E-Mail Address
- Uniqname
- U-M Work Phone
- Campus Mail (Address)
- Title
- Affiliation
- Also Known As
A directory entry is created for every new student, faculty, and staff, and is constantly updated with the latest information provided to the university.
Modifying Profile Information
Some information can be modified or added. To edit your profile information for MCommunity:
- Open a web browser (Ann Arbor suggests using Google Chrome or Safari for the best results)
- Navigate to https://mcommunity.umich.edu/ using the address bar of the web browser and press Enter
- Click Login in the upper right corner of the window and log in using your uniqname and current password
- If you are a newly admitted student, it may take a full semester to be added to the U-M Online Directory
- If you are a newly hired faculty/staff member, it may take up to three months to be added to the U-M Online Directory
Click My Profile in the upper right; You can now see the different types of information associated with your account In the upper right corner of each section, you can press Edit to change the information in each box When finished making alterations press Save at the bottom right of the selected box When you have completed making changes, click the Log Out in the upper right corner; if you are not finished and would like to change more, click Cancel.
- If you clicked Cancel, you will be redirected to your profile page; by clicking Log In again, you can continue to make changes to your profile
Information You Can't Edit and Information You Can Add
By default, the personal information below is only viewable by you when you log in. You can optionally edit the viewability settings of each of these entries with Viewable By Self Only (default), Viewable By U-M Only, or Viewable By Everyone.

- Home Address
You cannot edit the above information in MCommunity. For details on how to edit this personal information, please consult Ann Arbor's Documentation.

- Alternate Phone Number

- Personal Biography
Additional Information
Along with providing a full campus directory, the MCommunity online directory provides the ability to create groups for students and campus organizations. More information regarding this functionality can be found in Ann Arbor's Documentation.
