What is Canvas
Canvas is a virtual learning environment and management system used by UM-Flint and supported by the Office of Online Digital Education (ODE). The ITS Helpdesk can only offer limited support for Canvas, such as log-in assistance or general troubleshooting. The focus of Canvas is to add online elements to courses traditionally delivered face-to-face and develop completely online courses with few or no face-to-face meetings. Please note, Mozilla Firefox is the recommended web browser for use with Canvas.

Troubleshooting
If you are encountering an Additional Authentication error while trying to log in to Canvas, please attempt the following troubleshooting steps:
- Clear the cache of the internet browser you are using. Steps on how to complete this can be found here.
- Or try loging in to SIS by going to sis.umflint.edu.
- Once you are logged in, copy the link "https://canvas.flint.umich.edu/" into your browser's address bar
- Then press Enter.
- This should force it to recognize your credentials and log you in automatically.
