Scope: Learn about DART Codes, DART Code Tables, and OUD Code Review
What is a DART "Code"?
A DART code is any value you see in DART that is available in a drop down list. Whenever a field in DART has the DART user selected from a pre-populated list, the values in that list are referred to as a DART "code".
What is a DART Code Table?
A code table is all the possible accepted values or codes for a particular DART field. Code tables increase data entry speed and accuracy throughout DART. When users enter information into a DART field with a code table, they can quickly access a list of possible entries for that DART field rather than type it manually. DART code tables help maintain consistency in your data entry. For example, when users add a new constituent phone number, one may enter “Cell Phone” as a phone type, another may enter “Mobile,” and yet another may enter “Cell.” All three designate the same phone type. To prevent inconsistency and ease the interpretation and retrieval of information in DART and reports, we use a code table to define the true accepted value of phone types in Code Tables.
Above is an example of a DART code table.
How do I request a new DART Code? What is OUD Code Review?
To put in a new request for a DART code, please put in a ticket with the OUD Integrated Services Team. Each Wednesday, the OUD-Development Services and Strategic Solutions team meet to discuss all new code requests during a meeting called “Code Review”. We will reach out to you about the new code request and discuss the best way to enter your data into DART.
