This Report

This report pulls pledges and gifts with encumbered and matched status.

Why use this report?

Use this report if you need to monitor the lifecycle of financial commitments that carry encumbered or matched statuses, allowing you to reconcile initial pledges with their corresponding gift payments.

E.g. Track all matched gift payments for the Department of Athletics to verify that corporate matching funds have been correctly applied to the original donor's encumbered pledge.

Running the Report Directly

• Enter value(s) for Donor Challenge Name

  • Default value is set as Michigan Matching Initiative for Student Support. Values can be added or deleted as needed.

  • E.g., Michigan Matching Initiative for Student Support

• Enter value(s) for Purpose SCU Rollup

  • Allows Users to select a School, College, or Unit Rollup Name.

  • E.g., Law School

• Enter value(s) for Purpose VP Area Rollup

  • Allows Users to select a VP Area.

  • E.g., Exec. VP for Medical Affairs

• Enter value(s) for Purpose Campus Rollup

  • Allows Users to select a Campus.

  • E.g., University of Michigan-Dearborn

Specific Purpose and Designation Criteria (Optional)

Answer the following prompts to further refine the report based on specific financial IDs or physical locations.

• Enter value(s) for Purpose MPathways DeptID

  • Allows Users to select a MPathways DeptIDs.

  • E.g., 320000, 170001

• Enter value(s) for Purpose Site Name

  • Allows Users to select a Site Name. NOTE: This field does NOT include any rollup.

  • E.g., Botanical Gardens

• Enter value(s) for Designation LookupID

  • Allows Users to select one or more Designation LookupID.

Report Tabs

There are 3 report tabs:

• Pledges

  • Includes all encumbered and matched pledges

  • Shows the total commitment of future funds promised by donors, including employer matching expectations

• Gifts

  • Includes encumbered and matched gifts - pledge and one-time gift payments

  • Reflects the actual cash or assets received by the University during the specified period

• Matched Gifts

  • Includes all gifts that are matched

  • Highlights the portion of total production generated specifically through corporate or organizational matching programs
