Lifetime Recognition / MProfile Credit in Business Objects

For additional information on what MProfile credit means, see the counting methodology definitions article.

Reporting on Lifetime Recognition Credit Totals

When reporting on lifetime recognition credit, a secondary query and multiple variables (calculations) must be used. The secondary query will utilize the same core set of filters (outright payments, planned gifts and pledges with outstanding balances, and other-other-payments).

The results object of the secondary query must include the following to facilitate the calculation of lifetime recognition credit:

  • Constituent LookupID

  • Recognition Revenue Transaction Type

  • Recognition Planned Gift Vehicle(+)

  • Recognition Amount

  • Recognition Pledge Application Balance Due

Figure 1. A screenshot of the Business Objects secondary query for lifetime recognition credit reporting in the output.

The [Constituent LookupID] fields from the base query and the recognition credit secondary query are merged. The final calculation for MProfile Lifetime Recognition Credit is: ([Payment] + [Life Insurance] + [Planned Gift] + [Pledge]) In([zConstituent LookupID])

  • [Payment] = [Recognition Amount] Where([Recognition Revenue Transaction Type]=”Payment”)

  • [Life Insurance] = [Recognition Amount] Where([Recognition Revenue Transaction Type]=”Planned gift” And [Recognition Planned Gift Vehicle(+)]=”Life insurance”)

  • [Planned Gift] = [Recognition Pledge Application Balance Due] Where([Recognition Revenue Transaction Type]=”Planned gift” And [Recognition Planned Gift Vehicle(+)]<>”Life insurance”)

  • [Pledge] = [Recognition Pledge Application Balance Due] Where([Recognition Revenue Transaction Type]=”Pledge”)

Filtering on Lifetime Recognition Credit Totals

When filtering on lifetime recognition credit totals, a subquery that utilizes the same set of base filters and uses [Sum of Recognition Amount] for a cumulative amount filter must be used.

Figure 2. A screenshot of a Business Objects subquery filtering on MProfile credit in FY2015 totaling $50,000 or more.

This subquery is part of the larger definition of the base population (e.g., active individuals, organizations, alumni of the Marsal Family School of Education). It may include additional filters on the credit in the filter, such as credit to a particular SCU, within a range of fiscal years, and so on. The example in Figure 2 is looking for donors with MProfile-style recognition credit in fiscal year 2015 of $50,000 or greater.
