What Does It Do?
The OUD-DS3 best practice is for parents of current and former U-M students to have the Parent constituency. This will ensure that the Regent’s Hierarchical Constituency displays “Parent” and not “Non-Alumni”.
This integrity check identifies parents of current U-M students based on relationship records but who are missing the Parent constituency so that the Parent constituency can be added to these records.
How Is This Done?
This integrity check is run using a SQL Server view called [INTEGRITY_CHECKS].[dbo].[IDS.V-INTEGRITY CHECK-RELATIONSHIP-Current Parent Missing Parent Constituency(DW)], which is located in DB-OUD > Databases > INTEGRITY_CHECKS > Views.
That view queries constituents with a parent relationship to a constituent who is currently attending U-M and who has a primary constituency of “Non-Alumni” and who is not a prospective parent (the “Prospective Parent” constituency indicates that the ‘student’ has not been confirmed in the count during the third week of the semester). It notes that the “Parent” constituency should be added and the “Non-Alum” constituency should be removed.
