Why does Windows say I have terabytes (TB) of storage in my CAEN Home Directory?

Each CAEN Home Directory provides a per-user quota for storage (50 GB for students). These quotas are enforced by the network file server, and cannot be increased.

Unfortunately, the Windows operating system does not list these types of network quota restrictions, but instead displays the total size of the volume on the server where home directories are stored. This may result in Windows reporting much more space available than the fixed quotas.
