Why does Windows say I have terabytes (TB) of storage in my CAEN Home Directory?

Each CAEN Home Directory provides a per-user quota for storage of 50 GB. These quotas are enforced by the network file server, and cannot be increased.

Unfortunately, the Windows operating system does not list these types of network quota restrictions, but instead displays the total size of the volume on the server where a home directory is stored, which results in Windows reporting much more space available than the fixed quotas.
