What is AFS?

The Andrew File System (AFS) is distributed file system comprised of file servers and clients which allows many computers to share files over a network. A file server stores files that other computers, or clients, need to access.

At the University of Michigan, students, faculty, and staff are eligible to obtain AFS Personal Storage from ITS.
