How can I find a Linux lab computer to connect to remotely?

If you are logged into the Linux Remote Login Service, you can run the following command to find an available lab computer running Linux that has no one else logged into it:

$ getmach

You can then use ssh to connect to that host, and run CAEN software on a system with more RAM and CPU resources.

Note that CAEN lab computers are not intended for long-running or unattended simulations. individuals who require extended background computing resources should consider Alternatives to CAEN Computer Labs.
