Digital Signage - Use the Network Monitor to Take a Screenshot of Your Sign

The Network Monitor can be used to take a screenshot of the content that is currently scheduled on digital signs.

Issue

I would like a screenshot of what is displaying on my digital sign.

Resolution

  1. Sign in to Content Manager Desktop via Microsoft Remote Desktop
  2. Right-click on the location of your sign
  3. Select Send Command...
  4. Click on the button labeled with a + sign, it represents adding a command
  5. In the Command: field select Upload Screenshot 
  6. Click OK
  7. In the Network Overview portion of your window, click on the location of your sign
  8. In the top right hand corner of the Network Overview portion of your window click on the button Network Monitor
    1. the button doesn't have a text label but it looks like two screens that slightly overlap each other
  9. Click on the button Select Columns that has appeared to the right of that Network Monitor button
  10. Scroll down and check the box next to Screenshot 
  11. Click OK
  12. Click the button Refresh

Additional Information

The Network Monitor will show you what content is scheduled and supposed to be playing on your screen. The Network Monitor does not indicate whether the physical display (monitor/television) is powered on or that the proper source is selected to display.
