Issue
How do I log in to the Digital Signage Content Manager desktop?
Resolution
Off campus, connect to the University of Michigan VPN first before attempting to connect with the instructions below. Log in attempts that do not come from a University IP are declined, using the VPN is the solution to that.
Windows
- Click on the Start menu, search for and select the application Remote Desktop Connection
- In the 'Computer' field, type: dsw-digital-signage.adsroot.itcs.umich.edu
- Verify that the User name is UMROOT/'your uniqname'
- Click the Show Options button to change the User name
- Click Connect
- Enter your UMICH (Level-1) password
- Click OK
- Click OK
- You should now see a new desktop with a few icons in the top left corner
- Double click on the icon that looks like an eye on a teal circular background that is labeled Content Manager
Mac
- Open your applications folder
- Open the application Microsoft Remote Desktop
- Click Add PC
- In the PC name field enter: dsw-digital-signage.adsroot.itcs.umich.edu
- Double click on the small desktop that now appears in the window
- Enter your UMICH uniqname and (Level-1) password
- Click OK
- Click OK
- You should now see a new desktop with a few icons
- Double click on the icon that looks like an eye on a teal circular background that is labeled Content Manager
