Issue
How can I share my screen in a U-M Zoom Rooms conference room?
Resolution
There are several share options for users of the U-M Zoom Rooms technology.
Direct sharing with proximity detection (user)
- You can use this method whether the room is in a meeting or not
- If the room is in a meeting, the content will be shared to remote participants
- If the room is not in a meeting the content will be displayed on the screen for participants in the room to see
- Sign in to the Zoom desktop client or mobile app on the device from which you wish to share content
- In the Zoom desktop client or mobile app, click or tap Share screen
- Select which window you wish to share, then click or tap Share
- Your shared screen will show on the Zoom Rooms display
- You can also access screen share controls
Share using share.zoom.us
- Start or join a meeting in a Zoom Room
- Tap Share Content in the Zoom Rooms controller
- Open a web browser and visit share.zoom.us
- Enter the meeting ID or personal link, then click Share Screen. You can also click Enter a Sharing Key
- When prompted, allow your web browser to open Zoom
- Select the screen or application you want to share, then click Share
Note: Both video and audio will be disabled on your laptop or mobile device by default when initiating a screen share from the Zoom Room controller.
Manual HDMI sharing
- If the room has an HDMI cable connected to the Zoom Room appliance, plug the HDMI connected cable in to the port of the device you wish to share from
- Most often, this cable is HDMI into the appliance and USB-c connection to the device to share from
- It will screen share your desktop to the Zoom Room display
- Unplug the HDMI cable to stop HDMI screen sharing
