Document Imaging: Error When Logging Into the System

Summary

If users receive an error when attempting to log into the online version of the Document Imaging system, they can try to clear their cookies just for Document Imaging.

Issue

Users receive an error like one of the following when attempting to log into Document Imaging from Wolverine Access: 

  • HTTP Status 400 - Bad Request error 
  • Login Error   Unable to login. Contact your administrator. (Unauthorized).

Resolution

Delete/Clear Cache and Cookies for Document Imaging in Google Chrome

  1. Click the three vertical dots in the top-right corner of your Chrome browser window.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Privacy and Security in the left-menu.
  4. Select Third-party cookies.
  5. Under Advanced select, See all site data and permissions.
  6. To the right of the 'All sites' heading, in the Search bar, type imaging. 
  7. The results should show a general umich.edu entry - click the drop-down arrow to the right of the entry.
  8. Scroll through the listed UMICH sites until you find 'imaging-prod-web.dsc.umich.edu'.
    • The listing should have either a Hyland logo (H in a green box) or an image of an orange cartoon cat.
  9. Click the trashcan icon ('Delete site data and permissions...' option) to the very right of the entry.
  10. Click Delete to confirm.
  11. Close all open browser windows/tabs.

This will clear the cache/cookies stored for Document Imaging. Go back and attempt to log-in again and the error should not occur.  If the error persists, follow the instructions here to delete browsing data. 

 

Delete/Clear Cache and Cookies for Document Imaging in Microsoft Edge

  1. Click the three horizontal dots in the top-right corner of your Edge browser window.
  2. Select Delete browsing data.
  3. Set the time range to All time and un-select Browsing history and Download history.  Make sure Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files are selected. 
  4. Select Clear now. 
  5. Close all open browser windows/tabs. 

This will clear the cache/cookies stored for Document Imaging. Go back and attempt to log-in again and the error should not occur.
