Microsoft Teams: Why Can’t I Dial In to a Meeting?

Summary

This article explains why you may be unable to dial into a Microsoft Teams meeting.

Body

Environment

U-M Microsoft Teams

Issue

I want to dial into a Microsoft Teams meeting, but there is no number in the invitation or a meeting ID to enter when dialing the number to connect. Why is this happening, and how can I fix it?

Resolution

Only meetings hosted by someone with a dial-in audioconferencing license will allow participants to dial in. If you do not have a number with which to dial in or a meeting ID to enter, it is likely that the host does not have this licensing.

Important: As of November 30, 2023, audioconferencing dial-in licensing is no longer available in U-M Microsoft Teams.

Additional Information

If the external meeting has a dial-in number, refer to Microsoft Teams: Dial In to an External Meeting for instructions.
