Issue

How to use the Okta Verify Push Notification option for multi-factor authentication (MFA).

Resolution

Push notifications in the Okta Verify Mobile App are the recommended option for multi-factor authentication if you are able to use them.

1. On the Okta Sign-In screen, enter your uniqname or email address (if prompted) and click Next.
2. Enter your UMICH password (if prompted) and click Verify.
3. Select the Okta Verify - Get a push notification option.

Note: If the push notification option does not display, click Verify with something else.

4. A verification number displays on the Okta Sign-In screen and a push notification is sent to your mobile device.
5. Open the push notification on your mobile device and tap the corresponding verification number.
6. If prompted, complete biometric authentication.
