Issue
How do I enable Panorama in Canvas LMS to enhance digital content accessibility?
I can't find Panorama in the left navigation menu.
I can't find Accessibility Icons throughout Canvas.
Resolution
Currently, Panorama needs to be made visible on a course-by-course basis. If you do not already find Panorama within your Canvas courses, follow these steps:
To add Panorama to your left navigation menu in a course:
- Enter the course in which you want to enable Panorama
- In the left navigation menu, choose Settings (the last item)
- Under Settings, select the Navigation tab
- Scroll down though the items to find Panorama
- Select Enable or drag and drop Panorama to the top list of visible items
- Select Move or drag and drop Panorama to where you want it in the order
- At the bottom of the page, select Save
To add Accessibility Icons throughout your Canvas course:
- Open Panorama from the left navigation menu
- In Panorama's left-side navigation, navigate to Configuration > General Settings, or select Settings from your initial icon in the top right corner.
- In Course Settings, set the following items to Enabled:
- Accessibility Icon in File Preview, Panorama's accessibility icon will appear when previewing files on Canvas
- Display Icons, Panorama's accessibility icons will be displayed next to the content inside your LMS
- Save your changes.
