Issue
You are in the process of changing your U-M password and want that reflected on your Mac.
Resolution
Step 1:
Step 2:
- Connect your Mac to a wired campus network, MWireless or eduroam. (MGuest will not work.)
Step 3:
- Find the key icon in the menu bar.
- Choose the menu item "Sign Out", if present. If there is no "Sign Out" option, continue to step 4.
Step 4:
- Find the key icon in the menu bar, again.
- Choose the item "Sign In".
Step 5:
- A dialog box should appear asking you to Sign into ADSROOT.ITCS.UMICH.EDU.
- If this dialog box does not appear: your Mac may not be able to reach the authentication servers.
- You must use Ethernet, MWireless, or eduroam. MGuest will not work.
- Enter your uniqname in the top field, if it doesn't match.
- Enter your new password in the second field.
- Click Sign in.
Step 6:
- A 2nd dialog box should appear titled "Password Synchronization"
- Enter your new password in the first field.
- Very important to note that this is your NEW password!
- Enter your old password in the second field.
- Very important to note that this is your OLD password!
- Click Sync Password
When you next reboot your computer, use your new UMICH password to log in to the Mac.
