Resolution

Final grades from Canvas can now be easily imported into Faculty Center Grade Roster

1. Prepare your Gradebook for uploading final grades
   • You must format final grades as letter grades (via grading scheme) to use the Canvas Letter Grades Import function within Faculty Business

2. Login to M-Pathways Faculty Center Grade Roster via Wolverine Access
   • Instructions for logging into Faculty Business
3. Import grades using the Canvas Letter Grades Import function within Faculty Center Grade Roster

What if my final grades are in the non-credit Canvas course (for example in the lab section instead of the lecture section) and I'm unable to use the Canvas Letter Grades Import function?

Grades can be manually uploaded to Faculty Center Grade Roster following these steps:

1. Export Canvas Gradebook
   • See the Export Canvas Gradebook article
2. Open the spreadsheet and delete all columns except uniqnames (column heading from export is 'SIS Login ID') and grades (column heading from export is 'Final Grade' unless override grades are used then column header from export is 'Override Score').
   • Headings, extra information, and any type of formatting prevents a successful upload.
   • If you use a Macintosh, save the .xls, .xlsx, or .csv file as a Windows file version. Macintosh .csv, .xls, or .xlsx files will result in an error.
   • Excel cells must be formatted using the “General” category on the Number tab. Any other format category (i.e., “Special” or “Custom”) causes upload errors.
3. Upload grades using the File Upload function within Faculty Center Grade Roster
