Slack: Update Single-Channel Guest's Name

Issue

How do I change the name displayed in U-M Slack for my single-channel guest account?

Resolution

Single-channel guests cannot modify their profile information in U-M Slack. This information will need to be changed by a Workspace Admin per the instructions below:

1. Click University of Michigan at the top of the left channel sidebar.
2. Hover over Tools & settings in the drop-down menu and select Manage members.
   • If you do not find the Manage members option, then you're not a Workspace Admin in any U-M Slack workspace.
3. Select the relevant workspace from the drop-down and click Open. The "Manage members" page will open in a new browser window.
   • If you do not find the workspace you are looking for in the drop-down, then you're not a Workspace Admin in that workspace.
4. Click the ellipsis (...) icon to the right of the single-channel guest's full name.
5. Select Edit profile from the drop-down menu.
6. Update the "Full name" field as needed.
7. Click Save.
