Google: Which Edition/Version of Google Workspace Do We Have at U-M?

This article provides information on which Google Workspace for Education edition the U-M Google domain is under. It also includes a list of examples of features not available for Google at U-M.

Which version/edition of Google Workspace for Education do we have at U-M?

Resolution

Google at U-M is a Google Workspace for Education Fundamentals domain. Some features are not available. Examples of unavailable features are below (the list is non-exhaustive).

U-M Google accounts do not have access to:

• Assign Tasks from Google Docs
• Conditional Notifications in Google Sheets
• Code blocks for Google Docs
• Custom building blocks for Google Docs
• Drive labels for Google Drive
• Manage file approvals in Google Drive
• Record meetings in Google Meet (and other premium Meet features)
• 1080p HD video availability for meetings in Google Meet
• Use slides recording in Google Slides

These features and many others cannot be enabled or purchased for our Google Workspace edition.
