U-M Google, Google Wallet, and Google Pay
Issue
- Google apps/services/products/features that deal with monetary transactions return an error message, such as "Paid subscriptions are disabled" or "We are sorry, but you do not have access to Google Pay."
- Additionally, individuals with Google Chromebooks cannot use the Google Play Store and cannot install applications.
Resolution
Google apps/services/products/features that handle monetary transactions have not been enabled (under a University executive leadership policy) for the U-M Google domain.
The list of affected apps/services/products/features includes, but is not limited to:
- Google Pay
- Google Wallet
- Google Play Store
- YouTube Premium
- NFL Sunday Ticket
- Google Fi
- Google Chromebook
- Google Ads
- All other Google applications dealing with monetary transactions
Use a non-UMICH Google account for monetary transactions in Google.
