Clear Cache and Cookies (Temporary Internet Files) from Firefox

Environment

Mozilla Firefox, Mac or Windows

Issue

Clearing potentially corrupted cache, cookies, or other temporary internet files from the Firefox browser.

Resolution

*If you have multiple Firefox windows or tabs open, close all but one.*

  • Macintosh
    • From the Firefox menu, choose Preferences
    • Choose the Privacy & Security section
    • Click the Clear Data button in the Cookies and Site Data section
      • Select boxes for "Cookies and Site Data" and for "Cached Web Content"
    • Click the Clear button
    • Click Clear Now if you see a confirmation box

NOTE: It can take a few minutes to clear the cache depending on how long it has been accumulating.

  • Windows
    • From the History menu, choose Clear Recent History
    • Choose Time Range to Clear as Everything
    • Select checkboxes for Cookies and Cache
    • Click Clear Now
