Issue
I added my U-M Google account to my Android phone and now U-M contacts are appears as phone contacts. How can I remove the U-M contacts from appearing on my phone?
Resolution
First, you will need to disable Contacts syncing on your phone for your U-M Google account:
- Open the "Contacts" app on the phone.
- Open the menu in the top-left corner. (i.e., 3 stacked lines icon).
- Select "Manage contacts".
- Select "Sync contacts".
- Turn off syncing using the toggle button next to your uniqname@umich.edu email address.
Second, you will need to delete the U-M Google contacts that have been synced to your phone:
- Open the "Contacts" app on the phone.
- Open the menu in the top-left corner. i.e., 3 stacked lines icon).
- Select "All contacts" from the top of the menu, followed by selecting your uniqname@umich.edu Google account.
- Open more options in the top-right corner. (i.e., 3 stacked dots icon).
- Select "Edit".
- Select the "All" option in the top-left corner to select all U-M Google contacts added to phone.
- Select "Delete all" in the bottom-right corner.
- Select "Move to Trash" when prompted.
