How do I go into incognito/private/InPrivate mode in a browser?
Resolution
Using incognito or private browsing mode allows you to browse the web without saving your browsing history, cookies, or other temporary data. Incognito or private browsing is useful for troubleshooting, but note that it does not make you completely anonymous online.
Google Chrome
- Click on the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner.
- From the dropdown menu, select "New incognito window" or press Ctrl+Shift+N (Windows) or Command+Shift+N (Mac) on your keyboard.
Microsoft Edge
- Click on the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner.
- From the menu, choose "New InPrivate window" or press Ctrl+Shift+N (Windows) or Command+Shift+N (Mac) on your keyboard.
Mozilla Firefox
- Click on the three-line menu icon in the top-right corner.
- From the menu, select "New Private Window" or press Ctrl+Shift+P (Windows) or Command+Shift+P (Mac) on your keyboard.
Apple Safari
- Click on "File" in the top-left corner of the menu bar.
- From the dropdown menu, select "New Private Window" or press Shift+Command+N on your keyboard.
