MiCores (iLAB): Access as an External Collaborator

Environment

MiCORES https://micores.umich.edu/

Issue

Someone outside the University of Michigan needs access to MiCORES/iLab or assistance with registration.

Common questions include:

  • How can a non-UM individual access MiCORES?
  • Do external individuals need a sponsored U-M account?
  • Who should external individuals contact for assistance?
  • How can external individuals learn more about a specific Core facility and its services?

Resolution

You must have an iLab account to access MiCORES. The registration process depends on your individual affiliation.

No U-M affiliation?

  • During iLab registration, you should select or associate the account with your home institution.
  • You generally do not need a sponsored U-M account, if you are not affiliated with U-M.

Affiliated with U-M but do not have an active U-M account?

  • You may need to obtain a sponsored U-M account before registering for iLab, depending on the requirements of your sponsoring U-M department.
  • Contact the U-M department with which you have a relationship.

Additional Information

Refer to instructions on registering as an external collaborator (Creating a non-UMICH user account) and Getting Started with MiCORES.

For questions regarding:

  • Specific core facilities, services, pricing, training requirements, or usage procedures, contact the applicable Core facility.
  • Sponsorship, contact the U-M department with which you have a relationship.
  • MiCORES access, account creation, or general system usage, contact the ITS Service Center. Service Center staff will engage the MiCORES specialists when needed.
