Issue
You may experience one or more of the following shortcode-related issues in MiCORES/iLab:
- Unable to request shortcodes due to insufficient permissions.
- Expecting shortcodes to appear automatically for use in MiCORES, but they do not.
- Need assistance requesting or assigning shortcodes.
- Shortcodes appear as expired despite remaining active.
- A shortcode request remains pending and awaiting approval.
Resolution
- If you do not have permission to request shortcodes, work with your Principal Investigator (PI) and/or Lab Manager to obtain the necessary access.
- If you are expecting shortcodes to appear automatically in your lab, review and follow the shortcode request process, as shortcode access must be requested and approved before it becomes available to your lab. After a shortcode is approved, assign the shortcode to lab members.
- If a shortcode is active but appears expired, contact your Financial (FIN) team to verify that the associated PGN project dates are active. Once updated, the shortcode feed typically refreshes in MiCORES within one business day.
- If a shortcode request is pending because the designated approver has not yet approved or denied the request, contact the ITS Service Center, MiCORES support team. They can help identify the approver and, when appropriate, reach out on your behalf.
Additional Information
The MiCORES Support team cannot modify shortcode expiration dates, project funding information, or financial data associated with a shortcode.
