Archive an M-Inform Outside Interest

M-Inform (COI)

Issue

• Unable to submit M-Inform COI form due to an error: "Has Interest to disclose. You have indicated that you and/or your spouse, domestic partner, and/or dependent children do not have an outside activity with an outside entity/organization. However, you have pending disclosures..."
• Unable to Archive Outside Interest due to an error: "Could not execute the archive activity due to one or more errors"
• Need assistance ending/archiving a disclosure.

Resolution

End The Outside Activity

1. Find the outside activity and click Edit.
2. For the question "Is this outside activity, relationship, or interest ongoing?," select No.
3. Enter the end date for the outside activity. 

Archive the Outside Activity

Only outside activities that have ended over 1 year ago can be archived. If it has been less than 1 year since it ended, you must answer Yes under question 3, claiming an outside interest or activity. 

1. Click the Archive button. 
2. Under "Would you like to archive the following disclosure?" click Yes.
3. The end date does not need to be updated, it will be pulled from the disclosure.
4. Enter the reason for the archival.
5. Click Ok.

Resolving Related Errors: 

• Has Interest to disclose. You have indicated that you and/or your spouse, domestic partner, and/or dependent children do not have an outside activity with an outside entity/organization. However, you have pending disclosures...
  • If you receive this error message, it is because you have an outside interest that is still considered active, but you have answered No to question 3.
  • You will need to follow the steps above to end/archive the disclosure, or change your answer to Yes if it is still ongoing, or has been less than a year since it ended. 
• Could not execute the archive activity due to one or more errors
  • Confirm you have filled out all the required fields on the page.
  • Confirm it has been more than 1 year since the end date of the activity.
