Issue

How does ITS manage which services appear on status.its.umich.edu?

How can I include services in status postings, especially when not all ITS Services are listed on the Service Status site.

Resolution

ITS manages services on status.its.umich.edu through an alignment and auditing process.

• ITS maintains a common set of over 200 services and aligns them across:
  • ITS Services website: https://its.umich.edu/services
  • Ticketing tool Service Catalog: https://teamdynamix.umich.edu/TDClient/30/Portal/Requests/ServiceCatalog
  • Service Status site: status.its.umich.edu
• For usability, status.its.umich.edu only lists the 65 services that most frequently have status posts.
• Each year, ITS conducts an audit of the following to identify the 65 most frequently used services and updates the Service Status site accordingly:
  • Status posts
  • Change tickets
  • Service Retirements
• If you need to reference a service that is not in the 65 listed on status.its.umich.edu, you can still include it in your Service Status posting by completing the field:
  “Other Service(s): (please list)”
