Adding Questions/Answers in Bulk

Summary

There are two ways to add questions to the course:
Creating them individually through Problem Roulette itself
Uploading many at a time from a CSV, zip file from your LMS, or from a Word/Google document with help from our content specialist

Body

Uploading content from a CSV file or directly from a LMS quiz can be done through the Problem Roulette website. Uploading content from a Word document or Google document needs to be done through our team via our content specialist.

  1. For CSV files or LMS quizzes:
  2. Go to your course’s Admin Console from the dropdown menu in the top right
  3. Click the button above the navigation tabs that corresponds to your upload method of choice

Uploading via CSV

Name: Must match the course name EXACTLY (e.g. CHEM130.csv)

Format: Should match this template

Features:

  • At this time, we do not support importing questions with explanations, solutions, or multiple correct answers in this format
  • To use those, please add them through Problem Roulette after importing or contact our content specialist for assistance
  • Problem Roulette is working on allowing questions with solutions and/or explanations through CSV files in a future cycle

Uploading via LMS

For an LMS quiz:
  • Name:

    • The beginning of the file name must match the Problem Roulette course name EXACTLY (e.g. CHEM130.zip)

    • Additional information must be separated by hyphens (e.g. CHEM130-1.zip)

  • Format: Must be .zip

  • Notes on Canvas:

    • Canvas only exports Classic Quizzes, not New Quizzes

    • Questions can only be exported from a quiz, not a question bank

    • For more support, see Canvas’ support page here

Uploading via Word Doc

For a Word or Google doc:
