There are two ways students are added to a Tandem course:
1. Auto-enrollment: Tandem does the work.
2. Manually: Instructors add students.
Tandem will automatically load the students registered for your course through our auto-enrollment feature. After you complete your Course Details to create your Tandem term, we will enable auto-enrollment for your course if that feature is available. (Yes. Auto-enrollment even catches students who drop or add your course.)
Key details
-
Students are added or removed once per day. Auto-enrollment runs overnight. Your Tandem student roster will be updated with drops or adds at this time.
-
Auto-enrollment may lag behind the registrar’s office by a day or two. Student information passes through several systems before we can pull it into Tandem. That takes at least a day and sometimes two.
-
You can manually add students if needed. If you can’t wait for auto-enrollment to run, you can add individual students by hand. (See “adding students manually”)
Most of the time our auto-enrollment feature will pick up students who drop or add your course so you don’t need to add them manually. However, in some cases auto-enrollment isn't available or doesn't update quickly enough. In those cases, you can add students manually.
