If you are a University of Michigan instructor, GradeCraft's integration with Canvas allows you to import assignment grades from Canvas directly into GradeCraft. This means you can use the features of Canvas (like quizzes or speed grader) with the grade book of GradeCraft.
1. If you haven't done so already, add an assignment that will correspond to the Canvas grades you want to import.
2. Navigate to the assignment and click on its name to access the student list.
3. In the upper right hand corner, find the button for "Options." Click the option for Import Grades. 
4. You will have two options here - either Import from CSV (if you want to import from a spreadsheet) or Import from Canvas. Click Import from Canvas. You may be asked to authorize your use of Canvas in GradeCraft. If so, it will ask you to authorize it and then take you back to the screen to choose either Canvas or a CSV.
5. Select the appropriate course and assignment from Canvas for import.
Note: If you are a U of M faculty member, keep in mind that if a student has dropped your class, they may still show up in GradeCraft (until you deactivate them). Be careful to make sure names match if you are copying from Canvas.
6. Allow time for the Canvas grades to load. Depending on how big your class is, this could take a while! Please be patient!
7. The next screen will verify the student information and grades you wish to import. (Did you pick the wrong assignment? No problem - you can switch Canvas Assignments from here). To verify the information, click the "Check" button in the upper right hand part of the screen. Then, scroll down to the bottom of the screen, and click "Import."
8. The grades will be imported to your course, however they will still need to be released to students. Note that this is not a synchronized process - if grades are updated in Canvas at a later date, they will need to be re-imported.
