Streamline your grading process by importing grades from external sources into GradeCraft using CSV format. Whether you're tracking attendance, utilizing quiz programs, or managing in-class assignments, GradeCraft's flexible import feature ensures seamless integration of grade data.
Not all assignments need to be submitted by students through GradeCraft. For example, it may be easier for you to keep attendance records in a spreadsheet. GradeCraft provides flexibility for instructors to import integer data from external sources, such as spreadsheets or quiz programs, facilitating efficient grading processes. Follow these steps to import grades in CSV format:
Format Data
GradeCraft requires grades to be in a specific format for data upload. The file must be in CSV format and it needs to contain the student's email address or ID.
If you are using an existing spreadsheet, the following column headers (in order) need to be present:
First Name
|
Last Name
|
Email
|
Score
|
Feedback
|
However, we usually recommend you download the Grade Import Template to make sure your information is in the right format. Downloading the template will also include all students in your class, so it ensures that student names and email are correct.
Download the Grade Import Template
1. From the left hand navigation bar, click on “Assignments”.
2. Identify and click on the name of the desired assignment for grade import.
3. In the top right corner, click the "Options" icon. Select “Import Grades” from the drop down menu.
4. There will be two options - Import from CSV and Import from Canvas. Click the “Import Grades From CSV” option.
5. From this page, click on "Download Sample File" to save the file to your computer.
Tips:
- GradeCraft only accepts whole numbers. Decimals cannot be imported or inputted.
- The column for "Feedback" allows you to provide text-based feedback to students on their submission.
- When saving your file, make sure to retain the .CSV format.
