Badges

Badges within GradeCraft serve as digital tokens of achievement, recognition, and progress. However, it's important to note that this feature will only be accessible if your instructor has enabled it.

In GradeCraft, badges serve as markers of achievement and progress within a course. They can be earned by students based on various criteria set by the instructor.

Accessing Badges

The badges tab will appear in the left-hand menu of your dashboard only if the instructor has enabled this feature for the course.

Badge Status

Gray Badges: These represent badges that you have not yet earned. Click on any gray badge to view its description on the right-hand side.

Full-color Badges: These are badges that you have earned. Some badges may display numbers in the corner to indicate how many times you have earned them.

Purpose

Badges can be used by your instructor in many different ways. If you're not sure how they apply to your course, it is best to check with your instructor(s). Some common ways badges in GradeCraft are used include:.

  • Recognition: They can recognize outstanding performance on assignments or activities
  • Peer Recognition: You might have the ability to award badges to your peers!
  • Leveling: Badges can be tiered (e.g., bronze, silver, gold), encouraging you to "level up"
  • Encouragement: They can incentivize desirable actions in the class, such as attending office hours or contributing creatively
