Navigating your academic journey involves more than just attending classes and completing assignments; it's about understanding your progress and making informed decisions along the way.
In GradeCraft, it is important to routinely check in on your course progress to ensure you are on path to get your desired grade. Tracking your progress is made easier through tools like the Dashboard and Grade Predictor. This guide will walk you through understanding and interpreting the progress bars in both of these features, empowering you to stay on top of your academic game.
Dashboard
When you log into GradeCraft, one of the first screens you'll see is the Dashboard. By scrolling down slightly, you can find the Points Progress section. This area provides a simplified overview of your progress within the course. Here, you'll see your earned points, planned total points, and the points needed to reach your set goal.
Grade Predictor
For a more detailed analysis of your progress, head over to the Grade Predictor. Accessible either through the left-hand menu or by clicking "My Plan" on the Dashboard, the Grade Predictor shows a comprehensive view of your journey. At the top of the screen, you'll see a bar chart that shows your earned points, predicted points, and your projected final grade.
The colors mean:
- Green: Points earned through graded assignments
- Blue: Predicted points that you have not yet received a grade for, but are predicting you will do
- Hashed Blue: Predicted points that are locked. If the course contains locked assignments, the hashed blue part of the bar indicates the points that you are predicting to do, but the assignment is not yet available to you because it is locked. These points may require that you complete another assignment or receive a badge in order for them to be available. Once you have unlocked the assignment, they will no longer appear with the hash marks.
The markers on the top indicate the grade milestones available in your course:
- Black: regular grade level
- Pink: locked grade level, meaning that you have to do certain things to unlock the grade milestone to earn it
Pro tip: If you hover your mouse over any of the black/red markers along the top, it will change to blue and display a grade milestone for your class.
