Can I allow resubmissions?

For certain assignments, you may wish to allow students to resubmit their work to encourage learning through iterations, mistakes, and improvements, rather than a one-and-done task. GradeCraft has a feature that fully supports that. You have the freedom to turn it on or off for each assignment.

To allow resubmission

GradeCraft enables students to submit multiple times for the same assignment via the "Resubmissions allowed" field:

  1. Click "Assignments" under "Coursework" from the left-hand menu. Expand the "Coursework" folder if needed
  2. Create an assignment or select an existing assignment that you wish to allow resubmission
  3. If you wish to edit an existing one, click "Edit" in the upper right corner
  4. Switch to the "Details" tab
  5. Selecting "Accepts Submissions", and then "Resubmissions Allowed"
  6.

What the students see

After a student submits their work for the first time, they will see the option to "resubmit". They can do this as many times as they like. For each resubmission, GradeCraft will capture what changed and show them their revision history at the bottom of the submission page. This time line, which goes from most recent at the top to oldest changes at the bottom, will also include any grade changes or feedback the instructor provides.

To grade resubmission

Ultimately, students will only ever receive one grade for their assignment, regardless of how many times they resubmit their work. Each time someone re-grades their work, that grade overrides any pre-existing grade.
