Types of Events can be Scheduled Early During the Shared Scheduling Time Period

What type of events can be scheduled "early" in (room type 110) classrooms during the shared scheduling time period of 8 a.m.-noon?

Units can begin scheduling events in (room type 110) classrooms at the following times:

  • early July for a fall term
  • mid-November for a winter term
  • early March for spring/summer terms

Check our website for specific dates each year.

Units can schedule three types of events prior to these dates: events directly related to a class, Continuing Education classes, and events that include participation from non-university personnel whose calendar requires early scheduling.

Events directly related to a class; e.g. study groups, breakout sessions; may be scheduled at any time, including prior to the freeze period.

Continuing Education classes may be scheduled early. Scheduling Continuing Education classes prior to the freeze is discouraged, but may be allowed if necessary.

Events that include participation from non-University personnel whose calendar requires early scheduling may be scheduled early. If possible, scheduling these events after the freeze is preferable.

Exceptions must be approved by the Registrar's Office. Contact the RO by emailing ro.curriculum@umich.edu.
