Closed Classes With Open Spaces Must be Waitlisted

What's going on when a class is closed even though it shows space is available?

When a class reaches its capacity, it closes. If a waitlist is offered for that class and students are on the waitlist, the class will not reopen even if people drop the class.

Students should waitlist the class and attend the first day of the class to see if there is space available. If the student is allowed into the class, permission will be issued by the department. The student must then go to Wolverine Access and add the class. The system will "see" that the student has permission and will bypass the closed status, allowing the student to add the class.
