In-State Tuition Application Filing Requirements

On my admissions application, I applied as an in-state student. Why am I now being asked to file an application for in-state tuition?

Although a student may self-report their residency status as in-state, you may have non-resident activity in your admissions application which would require a residency review. Some of the common reasons for the application filing requirement include, but are not limited to: attendance at or graduation from an out-of-state high school or college, employment outside of Michigan, or having one or both parents living outside Michigan. A more comprehensive list of the screening criteria and the application filing requirements can be found in the university's Guidelines for Qualifying for In-State Tuition.
