Canvas is a cloud-based learning management system that makes teaching and learning easier and more convenient. Canvas is designed to be used on web browsers and mobile devices.

CATME

The Comprehensive Assessment for Team-Member Effectiveness (CATME) application is an online tool that can be used by School of Nursing faculty to conduct peer evaluations and prepare students to work effectively in teams. CATME provides tools for students to perform self and team evaluations, rating and evaluation simulations and training, and team building based on student survey criteria.

Echo 360

Echo360 is a lecture capture service for recording classroom lectures, meetings, speeches, and other events. These recordings can be made available for students to review on their own or shared with others. You can record any combination of audio, video, and information on your computer screen and easily publish your recordings to Blackboard for others to view.

G Suite

Google Suite (or G Suite) is a collection of Internet-based collaboration and productivity apps. Google suite includes: Gmail for email, Docs for word processing, Sheets for tables and graphs, Present for slide shows, Drive for shared file storage and Meet for online video collaboration.

i-Human

i-Human is a web-based application that helps build diagnostic competency and clinical judgment skills. i-Human provides safe, repeatable, fully-graded clinical patient encounters on desktop and tablet computers anywhere, anytime.

Kaltura

Katura Capture is a video recording tool integrated into Canvas that allows users to record video for use with MiVideo. Faculty can use Kaltura Capture to record screen captures and videos (including Voice over PowerPoint) using any laptop or desktop computer equipped with a web camera and microphone.

MiVideo

MiVideo (by Kaltura) is the University of Michigan's cloud-based media streaming service. MiVideo's content management service helps organize, catalog, share, search, and publish multimedia content.

Perusall

Perusall is an online platform designed to enhance collaborative learning and engagement with course materials. It allows students to annotate and discuss digital texts together, while providing instructors with analytics on student participation and comprehension.

Poll Everywhere

Poll Everywhere is a student response platform for both real time and asynchronous feedback solicitation and collection. Poll Everywhere provides a safe platform for every student to ask questions, participate in group activities, and share thoughts and insights. Poll Everywhere's real-time interactive polling options include multiple choice and word clouds, live voting results, scoring, leader-boards and win-states.

Portfolium

The Portfolium Network is a space where students can showcase their achievements to potential employers and connect with other Folio users. Folios display tangible examples of students' work and provide proof of competence and skill mastery. Any student with a Canvas login can create a free Folio by clicking on your account icon and selecting the Folio link.

Respondus

Respondus LockDown Browser is a customized browser that increases the security of test delivery. All digital education students are required to install and use the Respondus LockDown Browser.

TurnItIn

Turnitin is a tool integrated into Canvas that streamlines grading and feedback, deters plagiarism, and improves academic outcomes.

Typhon Guides

Typhon is an intuitive and secure tracking platform that provides an easy way to log, track, and manage nursing student clinical hours and experiences. Typhon also allows a way for the School of Nursing to administer clinical site, preceptor, and student evaluations.

VoiceTread

Voicethread is a mediated content tool which allows faculty and students to record and annotate various forms of media (video, audio, text), asynchronously to provide for enhanced interactions beyond text-based discussion boards.

vSim

vSim provides realistic patient encounters based on actual nursing scenarios students will experience in real-world practice. vSIM provides encounters in the following areas: Fundamentals, Medical-Surgical, Maternity, Pediatric, Gerontology, Pharmacology, Health Assessment and Mental Health.

Zoom

Zoom is a great tool for video and audio conferencing, chat, and webinars. Zoom can be used on mobile and desktop computing devices and is one of several video lecture and collaboration tools available at the School of Nursing.
