Dropbox: Remove a Connected Device From Your Account

Issue

How do I remove a connected computer and/or mobile device from my U-M Dropbox account?

Resolution

To remove a connected device from your U-M Dropbox account:

  1. Log in to dropbox.umich.edu.
  2. Click your avatar in the upper right and select Settings from the drop-down menu.
  3. Click the Security tab.
  4. You can find the devices connected to your account listed under Devices.
  5. Click the trash can icon beside the device(s) you'd like to remove.

Once a device is removed, a new device can be added.

Additional Information

  • There is a limit to how many devices can be connected to a U-M Dropbox account. You can connect up to five computers and five mobile devices to your account
  • In order to connect an additional device, an existing one has to be removed from your account. You may encounter an error in the Dropbox desktop app stating "Interrupted Sign in" if your UM Dropbox account's device limit has been reached.
