Student Success Center Navigation
The following is a description of the ways that we use the TargetX Student Success Center tool in the UM-Flint CRM. The diagram below breaks down the different areas that are in use.

1- Navigation Bar
- Students - Student List displays tabs with options of My Students, which includes students for which you are a Success Team Member (i.e. primary advisor), or All, which is a list of all active students in the CRM.
- Clicking a student in either list will open their activity timeline and student profile.
- Timeline - Similar to Students, there are tabs at the top for My Students and All. This section includes the most recent activity for the list of students you are reviewing which includes updates to holds and other advising items.
- Clicking the arrow next to a particular item (i.e. an alert) will open that item for more detailed review, to add notes, etc.
- Events - Displays a calendar of organization events, including campus tours and webinars; primarily recruitment events.
- Appointments - Displays an appointment calendar containing any availability slots and appointments scheduled for you. The top right orange section also displays your most recent or upcoming appointments.
- Please Note: disregard this area of the SSC is not being utilized at this time by the Advising group.
- Settings - Only technical staff members, core retention team members and system administrators will see this area as an option which contains settings related specifically to the SSC including display values, etc.
2 - Tasks
- The blue section at the top left of the SSC displays the current count of Tasks assigned to you which have a status of Not Started, In Progress, or Overdue.
- At the bottom of the SSC and above the Navigation bar is your overall task list which you can search, sort and filter using the options to the right above the Tasks list.
- Please Note: As an advisor in the CRM, you will typically not have tasks assigned to you directly via process automation; you are free to use this area for work tracking as needed. However, most advisors utilize the "Open Issues" on their timeline for their assigned students as outstanding work items to review and complete/close.
3 - My Students
Similarly to the Students option on the Navigation Bar at the bottom, clicking View next to Students in the My Students section will take you to the list of students for which you are a primary advisor (referred to in the CRM as Success Team Member).
4 - Open Issues
Clicking View next to Open Issues in the middle green My Students section will take you to a timeline of advising items for any students for which you are the primary advisor, including open holds and advising alerts. The count is the number of open advising items for My Students.
5 - Add Advising Item
Clicking the + in the top right corner gives you the option to create an advising item (ex. Referral, Task, Alert) and associate/relate it to a student. This option will be in the same location when you are on an individual student's activity timeline to allow you to directly associate that item with the given student.
