Intended Audience
This article is intended for university affiliates (students, staff, faculty, alumni, retirees, sponsored affiliates) who would like to learn more about Okta Verify.
Okta Verify
Before setting up Okta once you attempt to sign into your university account you will then be prompted to set up Okta using a QR code or by using a Link with a code to setup your account.

Troubleshooting
What to do if you get a new phone:
Problem: "I got a new phone and can no longer log in to my account using Okta"
Solution: Visit https://recovery.it.umich.edu/ to generate a temporary code to get back in to your account. You will only need to log in using your uniqname and current password. Click on the "Sign in* to check eligibility" button to get started.
Once logged in, you will be redirected to the screen as pictured below:
Click on the "Get started" button to proceed and follow all on-screen instructions.
What to do if you accidentally delete the app?
Problem: "I was clearing out apps off my phone and I accidentally deleted Okta Verify"
Solution: Visit https://recovery.it.umich.edu/ to generate a temporary code to get back in to your account. You will only need to log in using your uniqname and current password. Click on the "Sign in* to check eligibility" button to get started.
