Body
There are three summary tables in DART displaying a constituent’s total recognition by top campaign, recognition by sub-campaign, and recognition details. All three of these are querying a function in BBDW at the time that the page is loaded.

All three of these campaign views rely on the campaigns applied to the revenue transaction, and are filtered only to campaigns that roll up to the Look to Michigan (L2M) or Victors for Michigan (V4M) comprehensive campaigns. If there are additional campaigns on revenue transactions (e.g., a GBD campaign, Active Staff campaign), these will not be included in the output. Note that one transaction can be counted towards multiple campaigns, though nothing will ever be double-counted in a total. Because line-items may have multiple campaign tags, you cannot sum up values from other recognition summaries to get higher-level totals; if you do, you may be double-counting.
The transactions included are filtered based on the counting methodologies for L2M and V4M (separate criteria for each top-level campaign). As an example, pledge and planned gift payments are not counted in these campaign methodologies, so no pledge or PG payments will appear in the details or be included in the summaries.
In addition to campaign recognition amounts and anonymous flags, there are also sub-totals:
-
One Time Gifts: All transactions with a transaction type of Payment
-
Commitments: All transactions with a transaction type of Pledge
-
Expectancies: All transactions with a transaction type of Planned gift
Recognition amounts are always summed over the appropriate level of detail, and anonymous flags will be the “maximum” (i.e., if any of the transactions at that level of detail were anonymous, there will be an anonymous flag indicator).
The “Campaign Recognition Details” view represents unique combinations of the recognition constituent, revenue transaction, recognition date, designation, and campaign. If a constituent has multiple recognition records per transaction, they will be totalled (e.g., LID 2183353)
The “Campaign Recognition Summary by Sub-Campaign” view represents unique combinations of the recognition constituent and campaign.
The “Campaign Recognition Totals - By Top Campaign” view represents unique combinations of the recognition constituent and top-level campaign. Any transactions with multiple campaigns that roll up to the same top-level campaign are deduplicated before the sums are taken to avoid double-counting (e.g., LID 7062321).
Changes Made in Feb 2026
- Align L2M counting so that it is consistent with other reports and campaign counting standards. This primarily impacted preferred seat contributions (PSCs) for ATH.
- Remove any sub-campaign information where the sub-campaign does not roll up to the V4M or L2M top-level campaign (e.g., Active Staff, Collaborative Production campaigns, Reachback/Nucleus campaigns). This was being reported inconsistently, so numbers did not always represent complete totals.
- Corrected logic that was incorrectly deduplicating and/or double-counting credit records.
