What Does It Do?
The OUD-DS3 best practice is to avoid having multiple LinkedIn records per constituent, because LinkedIn URLs are often used as an identifier in vendor screenings.
This integrity check identifies constituents that have multiple different LinkedIn social media records so that PDA can review if all URLs are active and relevant.
How Is This Done?
This integrity check is run using a SQL Server view called [INTEGRITY_CHECKS].[dbo].[IDS.V-INTEGRITY CHECK-SOCIALMEDIA-Review Multiple LinkedIns(DW)], which is located in DB-OUD > Databases > INTEGRITY_CHECKS > Views.
That view queries constituents with multiple (non-duplicated) LinkedIn records; the URL is standardized before this comparison is done, so “http://linkedin.com/in/my-name” will not show as a duplicate of “https://www.linkedin.com/in/my-name/”.
These records are shared with PDA for further research to determine if any of the social media records can be removed from the constituent’s record. A ranking is provided that suggests the best one to keep based on a preference to keep the record with a user ID, or the first added to the system if they both do or do not have a user ID.
